Defence Forces joins in Night Hawk in Denmark

A special operations forces exercise called Night Hawk 2018 organised in Denmark on 17 to 27 September will be partaken by personnel from the Utti Jaeger Regiment and the Coastal Brigade, said an official press release.

The total strength of the Finnish detachment will be approximately 70 persons and the main equipments will include three Finnish Army NH90 transport helicopters, a MD500 light helicopter as well as Finnish Navy’s RHIB and Zodiac vessels.

The Finnish flight detachment will support the training of the multinational special operations forces honing skills in conducting SOF operations as well as in mission planning in a multinational operational framework.

The Finnish Navy combat divers and special boat unit will in turn participate in the maritime missions of the training exercise.

Altogether about 1,800 persons from 10 nations will participate in the exercise Night Hawk 2018. Finnish detachments took part in the same training exercise also in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
