A woman was found dead in a cabin of a cruise ship after the vessel had arrived at Turku harbour from Stockholm late Monday night, local media reported quoting police.

The cleaning staff found the body inside the ship named Baltic Princess operated by Tallink Silja Line immediate after its arrival at the port at about 7:15 pm.

National broadcaster Yle quoting a Finnish language evening tabloid Ilta-Sanomat said that the husband of the deceased, however, left the ship after the voyage without informing anyone in this regard.

The woman was in her thirties and a Finnish national, said the Ilta-Sanomat report.

Turku police told the newspaper that the couple made the journey together, but the husband disembarked the ship at Turku port alone without informing anyone about the incident.

Police found the husband at the port and took him to the custody to investigate whether is there any crime behind the death.

The incident delayed the next voyage of the ship by 90 minutes, which was scheduled to leave for Stockholm at 8:15pm.
