Teenage boy found dead in ice-production facility

A young man reportedly died in a workplace accident in Rusko on Boxing Day, said a Finnish language daily Kaleva on Saturday.

The accident took place at a dry-ice production facility, said the Oulu police.

The victim is suspected to have inhaled a poisonous gas. The exact cause of the man's death is, however, yet to be confirmed. The police are investigating into the incident.

The investigation will establish, among other things, whether poisonous gas leaked into the workplace during the working hours, said Antti Palokangas from the Oulu police.

The 18-year old man was found dead by another person who had entered the facility. The emergency response centre received the alarm shortly before 9:00 p.m.
