Four skiers including three Finns, who went missing at Blåbærfjellet area in Norway on Wednesday are presumed dead, National broadcaster Yle reported on Friday quoting Norwegian police.

The rest skier was a Swedish woman. Police detected signals from two avalanche transceivers at the area and feared that they buried under an avalanche.

Troms police at a press conference at Finnish time 4:00 pm said that as the avalanche had occurred 38 hours ago and the signals come from the avalanche area, it assumes the skiers buried under snow are dead, said the Yle report.

The skiers were last seen Wednesday afternoon, when they said they were heading to the peak of Blåbærfjellet to downhill ski.

A Swedish man who had been a part of the group said he had seen ski tracks left by the group leading towards but not away from an area that was later covered with snow by an avalanche. The avalanche is 300 metres wide and 500 to 600 metres long, the Yle report added.
