Only two percent of asylum seekers, who received negative asylum decision poses security threat, reported national broadcaster Yle quoting a police risk assessment report of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The investigation and intelligence unit of NBI conducted the risk assessment of more than 9,000 people who received a negative asylum decision in Finland since the autumn of 2017 and only 200 of them present a potential danger.

The risk assessment was projected to identify the risky people, who may commit serious crimes in Finland and such people would be deported on the priority basis.

Assessment was done on the basis of either their background of committing crimes or suspected of committing a crime, who may pose threat to national security.

The frequency and severity of any suspected crimes was also a factor in the risk assessment, said the report.

"It is determined by the whole picture, although attempted murder and assault on its own can also lead to prioritization," said the Yle report quoting crime inspector of NBI Ritva Elomaa as saying.
