Woman held in Kajaani for over speeding

A motorist in Kajaani on Sunday sped dangerously when the police attempted to stop her, said the police in a press release.

The incident took place when the police turned along national road 5 to check the driving condition of the motorists.

The motorist, however, accelerated and sped from the police when the police patrol turned on the siren.

The woman accelerated overtaking several cars forcing motorists coming from the opposite direction to evade the incoming car.

The car according to the police was driven at 130 km/h in an area where the speed limit is 60 km/h.

The woman who was alone in the car stopped and tried to escape by foot but the police caught up with her and she was apprehended.
