Two top ranking bosses of Southwest Finland police were suspected of harassment and violation of occupational safety at workplace, reported national broadcaster Yle.
The authority has begun investigation into the allegations including breach of official duties and job discrimination brought against Tapio Huttunen, Chief of the Southeast Finland Police and Teijo Ristola, Deputy Chief of the same department, said the report.
Yle knew that the two policemen are suspected of failing to intervene in and abetting inappropriate treatment and workplace harassment of employees at the Turku police station.
"It's good that the matter is investigated when these kinds of allegations are made," said the Yle report, quoting Huttunen as saying.
Huttunen, however, did not say anything about whether he will discharge duties at the boss of the department during the preliminary investigation.
"My continuation in the post will be decided at the Interior Ministry," he told Yle.
