The resignation of Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will not affect the timetable for the parliamentary elections.

The parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place on Sunday 14 April, confirmed the government in a press release.

The advance voting period is in Finland from 3 to 9 April and abroad from 3 to 6 April.

Members of Parliament are elected every fourth year. Election Day is the third Sunday of April. Every Finnish citizen who has reached the age of 18 not later than on the day of the election is entitled to vote in parliamentary elections.
