Parliament amends working hours act

The parliament on Wednesday adopted amendments on the working hours act, said parliament in an official statement.

The law will provide for among other things, flexible working time model and the introduction of statutory working hours bank.

The amendment will also bring changes to flexible working hours.

The parliament also adopted two statements. The parliament requires that employee representative systems and the powers of their representative be clarified in a way that safeguards employee rights and empowerment at their own work places.

The Parliament also requires the government monitor the functioning of the working hours act and to report back to the Employment and Equality Committee during the next parliamentary term.
