Finnish leaders condemned the deadly attacks that took place in London late Saturday.

President Sauli Niinistö said in a written statement early Sunday that Finland will not give in or become apathetic even after several incidents.

"Democracy and freedom are mightier forces than hatred", Niinisto said.

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä expressed profound shock and strongly condemned that attack.

“Shocked and saddened by the news from London. Strongly condemn the attacks. Our thoughts go out to everyone affected,” wrote the Prime Minister in a post in Twitter after the incident.

Talking to national broadcaster Yle, Foreign Minister Timo Soini described the incident as an attack was against "European way of life". Soini said that we "shall not be subjugated".

Seven people were reportedly killed after attackers drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed people in the nearby market area. British authorities have classified the incidents as terrorist attacks.
