4 remanded in custody for suspected robbery in Hartola

Four men were on Friday remanded in custody for suspected robbery and breakage into an 80-year-old man's house in Hartola.

The incident took place in Hartola on Tuesday, said the police bulletin

The owner of the house was assaulted and his possession stolen during the ordeal.

One of the perpetrators was injured while attempting to protect the old man. Both the offender and the old man are nursing their injuries at a hospital.

The incident prompted a swift police operation since the police were informed that there were several perpetrators and that two situations called for acute medical attention.

The pre-trial investigation will look into aggravated robbery and breach of sanctity of home among other offences.
