Dozens nabbed during snowmobile traffic surveillance

The police and Lapland Border Guard conducted an off-the road traffic supervision on Wednesday-Friday, said the police in a bulletin.
During the operation, breathalyser tests were conducted on 580 snowmobile riders.
Seven riders were found to have been driving under the ifluence of alcohol, however, the limit did not exceed 0.5 per mil, the limit for drunk driving.
Six snowmobile riders were fined for over speeding, while thirty others had written observations for minor infringements.
The police pointed out that the maximum speed allowed on designated snowmobile tracks is 60 km/h.
