Portuguese aircraft reportedly violates Finnish airspace

A Portuguese aircraft is suspected to have violated the Finnish airspace on Monday afternoon, said the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday.
The suspected territorial violation took place above Upinniemi in the southern part of Gulf of Finland, about 40 kilometers west of Helsinki at 17.59 Oclock, said an official press release.
According to preliminary information the plane appeared to be a model used for marine surveillance, reported National broadcaster Yle.
The violation was lasted a few minutes, the ministry spokesperson told local media.
The Finnish Border Guard is investigating the matter, the press release added.
