Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been handed three-match suspension due to his dangerous challenge in the French Cup final, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Friday.
The FFF said that its disciplinary committee made the decision following Thursday's meeting.
PSG lost to Rennes on penalty shoot-out in the French Cup final last Saturday. Mbappe was given a marching order for his reckless studs on Rennes defender Damien Da Silva's knee late in stoppage time.
As Mbappe has served one-match ban, he will miss PSG's two upcoming matches against Nice and Angers.
The FFF also declared that it has opened discilpinary proceedings against another PSG player Neymar.
Neymar was found to hit one fan's face when he climbed the stairs to receive the medal at the French Cup awarding ceremony.
The Brazilian star had been banned three matches by UEFA for his inappropriate words towards the match referee following an earlier Champions League match against Manchester United.
