Team USA left little to their opponents Denmark on Saturday, scoring four straight goals in the first period for ultimately routing Denmark 7-1 in Group A at ice hockey world championship.

Not only the Danish and American fans watched the Saturday game very closely. Slovakian fans also cheered for the Danes, because their win against the USA would keep the quarterfinal chances of the host country alive. But it was not meant to be and Team USA dominated the entire match.

Four straight goals in the opening period by USA's Frank Vatrano, Alex Debrincat, Clayton Keller and Chris Kreider broke their opponents' spirit and ruled out any chances of rally.

Denmark opened the second period with a nice backhand goal on a spinning rebound by Nick Olesen, but the spark was quickly extinguished with three more goals by the Americans. Alex Debrincat led his team with two goals and one assist.

Denmark will have to withstand another offensive storm on Monday against Canada and USA will be tested by the still undefeated Germans.
