Work out, get fit in Rovaniemi in summer

Rovaniemi in summer offers a full-spectrum opportunity for various physical activities to its people.
The authorities keep options for both free and paid physical activities at different facilities that has been gaining popularity day by day among the city-dwellers and guests of almost every age group – children, adults or elderly people.
The facilities of many parks and playgrounds in the city centre and its outskirts are kept free all round the year while the residents need to buy season cards for access to some other activities under the supervision of the instructors, Rovaniemi City sources said.
"The City of Rovaniemi invites all its residents and visitors to join our summer time activities. Everyone can participate in them free of charge," Rovaniemi City Sports Manager Pekka Hämäläinen told the Daily Finland.
The city authorities offer park aerobics free at Saarenkylä sports centre at 6:00 pm every Monday and outdoor circuit training on every Wednesday at 6:00 pm on the multi-arena at the city football field. No enrollment is needed for guided aerobics and fitness training and everyone can join the groups, Hämäläinen described as instances, adding, "We offer much more supervised activities for them who buys a summer pass at EUR 20."
He also named many other opportunities for physical exercises to keep the people healthy during the summer.
"There are plenty of different tracks and routes for walkers, runners and cyclists available near the city in every summer to make the summer more beautiful and attractive to the people," Hämäläinen added.
Sources at the Rovaniemi City said there are different summer passes for different games. For example, the summer pass for supervised activities costs EUR 25 per person and it can be collected from the Service Point Osviitta at the city's Rinteenkulma Market in Koskikatu area.
Self-contained gym lounges at Keltakangas Sports Hall opened on May 13 will remain so on every Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays till August 23. The guided gym lounges at Keltakangas Sports Hall are kept open for visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 3 to July 31. Gym exercise is available also at Totto-Hall in Muurola. The gym is opened on May 20 and will remain so till August 23. The pass costs 20 euros and can be collected from Muurola Library.
The city people may enjoy supervised exercising in the park at free of cost on every Monday at Saarenkylä Sports Centre at the city's Napapiirintie from June 3 to July 29.
The city also has a large number of public playgrounds for physical exercises, like the central sports ground Saarenkylä, Ounashalli ground, Muurola ground, Mäntyvaara ground and racetrack for various sports services, the sources said.
