Atletico Madrid is appealing to La Liga to block the registration of Antoine Griezmann for Barcelona as the dispute over the French star's transfer release clause continues to drag on.
The French World Cup winner signed for Barcelona last week after the Catalonians met the 28-year-old's 120 million euro release clause.
However, Atletico claim that the transfer fee paid by Barcelona is not enough, instead asserting that Griezmann had agreed terms at the Camp Nou before July 1, when his release clause stood at 200 million euros.
President of La Liga, Javier Tebas, told Spanish radio station Onda Cero, "Atletico wrote to us and placed in doubt whether or not we should grant Griezmann's license at Barcelona."
He continued, "There is a mechanism that has been put in place and it will be the organizations that must resolve the situation. We don't have the element of judgment."
The row has also seen Atletico threaten Barcelona with legal action over the transfer and the claim that Barcelona had been tapping up the services of Griezmann long before this summer. In 2017, Atletico reported Barcelona to FIFA for making an illegal approach for the star.
