Thiam claims women's heptathlon world title

Nafissatou Thiam added another glory after Olympic gold medal as she claimed women's heptathlon title at the IAAF World Championships here on Sunday.

The Belgian Thiam snatched a total of 6,784 points for a top finish among all athletes.

"It's really incredible. I'm so happy about the win," she said.

Carolin Schafer of Germany got a sliver medal with 6,696 points. The bronze went to Anouk Vetter of the Netherlands, who finished with 6,636 points.
