Each gold medal winner from Russia at the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will receive 4 million rubles (about 52,400 U.S. dollars), Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced on Thursday, reported Xinhua.

Each of the silver and bronze medalists will get 2.5 million rubles (32,800 U.S. dollars) and 1.7 million rubles (22,300 U.S. dollars) respectively, Mishustin said during a government meeting.

Coaches and specialists supporting Russian athletes will also receive bonuses, he added.

"The whole country supports our athletes and is proud of them. During these days (of the Games), the people of Russia will wish them nothing but victory," he said.
