Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer wants Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller to stay at the Bundesliga champions for the rest of their careers, reported dpa.
The current contracts of captain and goalkeeper Neuer (35), striker Lewandowski (33) and forward Müller (32) expire in 2023 but Hainer told Bild TV on Sunday he expects them to be renewed.
"I would be happy if all three of them would end their careers at Bayern Munich. And I believe that will happen," Hainer said.
“The three know what they have in Bayern. We know what we have in these three players. Thomas Müller belongs to FC Bayern like the Frauenkirche (church) belongs to Munich."
Bavarian Müller told broadcasters ZDF late Saturday he was "very relaxed" over the contract issue and that he and the club would decide over the next weeks when to start talks.
