PM praises Lions, all medalists, Olympics participants

Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Sunday congratulated Finnish Ice Hockey team for their outstanding performance in Beijing Olympics 2022 and winning gold medal in the event.

The Premier in separate twitter posts also appreciated the performance of all the winners who brought eight medals for Finland and thanked all the sportspersons for presenting Finland in the winter Olympic in this year.

“I am proud @Lions. Warm congratulations for the Olympic gold. Amazing performance,” Marin wrote in a twitter post in Finnish after the victory of Finnish Ice Hockey team in the final of men´s ice hockey tournament against Russia in Beijing on Sunday morning.

Finland became unbeaten champion in the men´s ice hockey beating Russia (ROC-Russian Olympic Committee) by 2 goals to 1 in the final at National Indoor Stadium in Beijing.

“Finland won a total of eight magnificent medals at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Success is always behind hard work. Congratulations to the medalists and thanks to all the athletes who represented Finland and the entire Finnish team,” said the Prime Minister in another twitter post in Finnish in the afternoon.

Finland won a total of eight medals-two golds, two silvers and three bronzes- in Beijing Olympics 2022.
