Beverage manufacturer company Hartwall on Wednesday has withdrawn its name sponsorship from Helsinki Arena (Ice Hockey stadium).

The company terminated its marketing collaboration with Helsinki Halli as part of the arena is owned by Russians, who were included in the international sanctions lists following Russia´s attack on Ukraine.

The name signs of Hartwall were also removed from the area on Wednesday, said the company in a press release.

Hartwall is one of Finland's biggest beverage manufacturers and has sponsored the Helsinki arena since its inception in 1997.

“The war started by Russia is an absurd and reprehensible act. We will longer engage in marketing collaboration with Helsinki Halli Oy due to the war in Russia. In the future, the arena will not bear Hartwall's name, and the Hartwall logo has been removed from the arena's wall,” said Kalle Järvinen, the Chief Executive Officer of Hartwall in the press release.
