Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose has praised RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt for their runs of the Europe League last four but has admitted he is a little envious of their continental journey, reported dpa.

"Both are doing superbly," Rose said on Friday. "Leipzig are also playing in the German Cup final.

"We look at that from Dortmund with a bit of jealousy. But they have deserved it and worked for it."

Rose has had a mixed debut season at Dortmund with the team likely to finish Bundesliga runners-up behind champions Bayern Munich

But a disappointing German Cup exit was matched by failure in the Champions League group stage and a thumping by Rangers - who Leipzig lead after their semi-final first leg - knocked them out the Europa League at the first hurdle.

Overall Rose said he was "quite happy that they both show that the Bundesliga is not so bad compared internationals. Unfortunately we could not do that this year."

Dortmund host Bochum on Saturday with a win guaranteeing second-place in the Bundesliga after their 3-1 defeat at Bayern last week ensured the title went to Munich for the 10th successive season.
