Junior Lions blow Slovakia by 9-3 in WC

Finland scored a massive victory against Slovakia in the Junior Ice Hockey World Championship by 9 goals to 3 in Rogers Place Arena in Edmonton, Canada late Sunday night to ensure their third consecutive win in the tournament.

Kasper Simontaival, Joel Maatta scored two goals each while Kasper Puutio, Aatu Raty, Captain Roni Hirvonen, Oliver Kapanen and Kalle Vaisanen scored one goal each for Finland in the match fully dominated by the Finns.

Peter Repcik, Servac Petrovsky, and Libor Nemec scored one goal each for Slovakia.

Kasper Simontaival took the lead for Finland at the first minute of the match and the junior Lions continued scoring in a regular interval until Kasper Puutio´s final score at the 56th minute.

Earlier, Finland beat Latvia by 6-1 and Czech by 4-3 in the two previous matches.

Finland will face the host Canada on Monday.
