Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala believes Germany is a promising candidate for the title at the World Cup in Qatar, reported dpa.
"I think we have a really good team and we can go really far. We're going into the tournament with the mindset that we can lift the trophy," the 19-year-old player told an interview to the Kicker sports magazine published on Monday.
Following the triumph in Brazil in 2014 and the historic first-round exit in Russia in 2018, Germany will face Spain, Japan and Costa Rica during the group stage in Qatar.
Musiala said "it's not an easy group" but the games will be "a good indicator of how good we are. These opponents will be good for us to find out way into the tournament."
Among the favourites to win the World Cup, Musiala named Brazil, Argentina and France.
The young Bayern star is expected to feature in Germany coach Hansi Flick's list of players travelling to Qatar, which will be announced on Thursday.
Ahead of the tournament, Musiala believe the Bayern players are in good shape "and we have to take that with us to the World Cup."
Germany start their campaign against Japan on November 23.
