Defender Josip Stanisic has signed a contract extension at Bayern Munich until 2026, the Bundesliga club said on Saturday, reported dpa.
The 22-year-old Croatia international, who will compete at this year's World Cup, joined the club's under-17 side in 2017 and has been with the first team since 2021.
"Josip Stanisic has established himself in our senior squad over the past two years, and that's also credit to our youth academy," board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said. "He's versatile in where he can play, performs well when needed."
So far, the defender made 29 appearances for Bayern, scoring one goal. Before, he was also part of the reserves team that won the third division title in 2020.
"This contract extension is a nice vote of confidence from FC Bayern, which I'd like to repay and which motivates me a lot for my further development. As someone born in Munich, it's a dream to be able to play in this shirt," Stanisic said.
