The German football federation (DFB) is yet to decided whether it will vote for Gianni Infantino in next year's FIFA presidential election, reported dpa.
"We are in talks. We expect to find a solution until then," DFB vice-president Ronny Zimmermann told broadcasters ZDF on Friday during the Morgenmagazin show.
The federation had announced on Wednesday that it would not openly support Infantino but would also not nominate an alternative.
"That doesn't automatically means that we won't vote for him in the end. It certainly depends on how the talks go," Zimmermann said.
Infantino, however, is set for a third term as president of the football governing body even without the support from Germany as he's the only candidate for the election.
The vote takes place on March 16 in the Rwandan capital Kigali.
The 52-year-old Swiss has already received backing from South America, Asia and Oceania despite the controversies surrounding the upcoming Qatar World Cup and his botched plans to hold the event every two years.
