Bottas claims pole position at F-1 in Abu Dhabi

Bottas who drives for Mercedes-GP will start the 2017 Forumla One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit first as the Finn completed the qualifier lap on Saturday with the fastest time.

Bottas finished his lap on Yas Island, United Arab Emirates (UAE) at a time of one minute 36.231 seconds.

Earlier in the day, his teammate Mercedes-GP driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain, who was second in the qualifier, was the fastest F-1 pilot during the last practice lap. Hamilton completed the practice with a time of 1 Minute and 37.627 seconds. Ferrari rival Sebastian Vettel from Germany was third.

Hamilton, 32, already claimed his fourth world championship during the Mexican Grand Prix end of last month.

The final race on Sunday will consist of 55 laps and will kick off at 5pm local time. The Abu Dhabi GP usually last even after sunset as the Yas Marina Circuit will be illuminated with artificial daylight.
