Finland win bronze in Winter Youth Olympic Ice Hockey

Finland on Wednesday won bronze in the ice hockey men’s 6-team tournament beating Canada by 5 goals to 4 at the Gangneung Hockey Centre in the Winter Youth Olympic Games.

The young Lions battled back against Canada with a dramatic shootout victory despite trailing 3-0 and leveled the score 3-3 before taking the lead at the end of the second period.

U.S. ice hockey players snatched the gold medal match beating the Czech Republic 4-0.

Sweden won a 4-0 victory over Japan in the women's 6-team ice hockey gold medal match, and Germany triumphed over Switzerland 3-1 in the bronze game.

Meanwhile, Finland took gold in the mixed team normal hill/4x3.3km cross-country event, while silver and bronze medals went to Slovenia and Italy.
