Stolz reaps 2 more golds in WC speed skating

Jordan Stolz of the United States reaped two more golds at the World Cup speed skating event in Quebec, Canada on Saturday, reported Xinhua.

Following his victory in Friday's 1,000 meters, the 19-year-old American triumphed twice again in the men's 1,500m and first 500m race.

In the men's 1,500m, Stolz clocked a winning time of one minute and 44.01 seconds, beating Chinese silver medal winner Ning Zhongyan by 0.78 seconds. Connor Howe of Canada finished third in 1:45.73.

Less than two hours later, Stolz clinched his third title in two days as he crossed the line in 34.51 in the men's first 500m race. Laurent Dubreuil of Canada finished 0.08 seconds behind for the second place while Japanese Yuma Murakami came in third in 34.67.

South Korea's Kim Min-sun claimed the title in the women's 500m first race with a time of 37.69. Femke Kok of the Netherlands settled for the silver in 37.70 and China's Tian Ruining took the bronze in 38.05.

The women's team sprint and men's mass start golds went to the Netherlands and Shomu Sasaki of Japan respectively.
