Stolz grabs fourth gold in speed skating WC Quebec leg

Jordan Stolz of the United States repeated his four-gold run at the speed skating World Cup last weekend as he won the men's second 500-meter race in Quebec, Canada on Sunday, reported Xinhua.

One week after capturing four titles in Salt Lake City, the 19-year-old American set a new tournament record of 34.36 seconds for his fourth gold medal in Quebec following victories in the 1,000m, 1,500m and first 500m race.

Poland's Marek Kania and Piotr Michalski finished second and third with 34.69 and 34.72, respectively.

Femke Kok of the Netherlands revenged South Korean Kim Min-sun to win the women's second 500m with another tournament record of 37.71. Kim, who had beaten Kok for the title in Saturday's first women's 500m, settled for the silver this time on 37.91, with the bronze going to Erin Jackson of the United States.

Kok's compatriot Joy Beune emerged victorious in the women's 1,500m after crossing the line in 1:55.50. China's Han Mei came in second with 1:56.39 while Dutch skater Melissa Wijfje was third on 1:56.89.

Also on Sunday, Sandrine Tas of Belgium clinched the women's mass start title, while Poland finished first in the men's team sprint.
