Finland earn easy victory in Ice Hockey WC beating Norway by 4-1

Finland beat neighbouring Norway by four goals to one to ensure their second consecutive victory in the Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague on Monday afternoon.

Oliver Kapanen, who scored a hat-trick against Great Britain on Sunday scored two goals while the rest two goals were scored by Arttu Hyry for the Lions.

Max Krogdahl scored the lone goal for the Norway in the match.

The Lions, who started the match through waging organised attacks clearly dominated over the Norwegians during the whole match.

Kapanen sent the puck into the Norwegians net at the seventh minute of the first period to take 1-0 lead for Finland and Hyry joined the goal race at the 18th minute resulting end of the first period with the score of 2-0.

Hyry scored again at the beginning of the second period and Kapanen widened the gap at the 31st minute but the Norwegians started to create pressure on the Finns and Max Krogdahl finally scored at the end of second period to reduce the gap.

Although the Finns continued to create pressure on the opponent in the third period but failed to add any more goal resulting 4-1 ending of the match.

Finland will face Austria in their fourth match on Thursday.

Earlier, the Lions beat Great Britain by 8-0 on Sunday and lost to host Czech Republic on tiebreaker on Friday.
