Finland failed to win any medal at the Olympics this year ended in Paris on Sunday, and this is the first time the Finnish athletes returned empty-handed in the history of modern Olympics.

Since the 1908 Olympics, Finnish athletes bagged medals in every time and the country won 37 medals including 14 golds and 13 silvers exact 100 years ago in the 1924 Olympics also held in Paris.

The situation turned into worsen during the recent periods and Finland won only two medals at Tokyo 2020, one medal in Rio 2016 and three medals at London 2012.

A delegation of 57 Finnish athletes participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Although leader of the delegation Leena Paavolainen earlier termed the team as excellent and versatile, none of them was successful to bring any single medal this year.

They competed in 14 events in the games.

The 2024 Paris Olympics was held from July 26 to August 11.
