Liverpool crushed Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday to go joint top of the Premier League alongside Manchester City with three wins from three games, reported Xinhua.

The result is a huge triumph for new Liverpool coach Arne Slot, but will only serve to increase the pressure on Erik ten Hag, who was perhaps surprisingly kept on by Manchester United over the summer.

Once again bad defensive errors were costly for Manchester United, with Casemiro guilty for the first two goals, both of which were scored by Luis Diaz in the 35th and 42nd minutes.

Mohamed Salah then added an excellent third for Liverpool in the 56th minute to compete a win that will make Slot an instant hero in Liverpool but left United in early season trouble.

Alexander Isak scored the winning goal after being slipped clean through as Newcastle beat Tottenham 2-1 at St James' Park.

Harvey Barnes put the home side ahead after 37 minutes, but Dan Burn put the ball into his own net to make it 1-1 in the 56th minute when trying to clear.

Tottenham then created enough chances to win the game with ease, but failed to take any of them, and Newcastle exploited their high defensive line with 12 minutes left to play for Isak to win the match.

Crystal Palace took their first point of the season after drawing 1-1 away to Chelsea, with Eberechi Eze scoring a lovely second half goal to equalize Nicolas Jackson's opener in a match where Chelsea were the better team in the first half, but Palace impressed after the break.

On Saturday Erling Haaland scored his second hat-trick in a week as Manchester City won 3-1 away to West Ham to keep their 100 percent record.

The Norwegian opened the scoring with a 10th minute header and after Ruben Dias had scored an own goal, Haaland put City back ahead with a powerful left foot shot.

Haaland then clipped home after being put through on goal with seven minutes left to play.

Arsenal and Brighton drew 1-1 in a game marked by Declan Rice's controversial sending off after kicking the ball away from a free kick.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz combined for the latter to open the scoring with a chip over the goalkeeper in the 38th minute, but Rice's sending off four minutes into the second half changed everything as Brighton seized the initiative.

Joao Pedro used his strength to hold off the defense and level, but Arsenal dug deep to save a point.

Aston Villa won 2-1 away to Leicester City, with Amadou Onana and Jhon Duran putting them 2-0 up before Facundo Buonanotte gave Leicester hope with just over a quarter of an hour left to play.

There was drama at Goodison Park where Bournemouth scored three late goals to turn what looked like a 2-0 defeat into a 3-2 win against Everton.

Michael Keane's 50th minute volley and Dominic Calvert-Lewin clipped finish seven minutes later had Everton in control, but Antoine Semenyo got Bournemouth into the game in the 87th minute.

Lewis Cook leveled in the second minute of injury time and Luis Sinisterra scored an unlikely Bournemouth winner in the 96th minute to leave Everton with three consecutive defeats.

Brentford took a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Southampton, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring twice and Yoane Wissa also on target before Yukinari Sugawara's late consolation for the visitors.

Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers drew 1-1, with Chris Wood putting Forest ahead after 10 minutes and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde responding almost immediately with a 12th minute goal.
