Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané risks a ban after the German Football Federation said on Tuesday it was investigating a possible elbow into the face of Borussia Dortmund's Pascal Gross, reported dpa.

The incident in Saturday's 1-1 Bundesliga draw was missed by on-field officials and VAR but videos doing the rounds on social media show the elbow, with Gross staying on his feet.

A one-game Bundesliga ban is likely for the Germany man.

Bayern, who host Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup third round later on Tuesday, next welcome Heidenheim in the league on Saturday.
