Junior Lions become runners-up as golden goal foils WC dream

Finland had to satisfied with silver in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship after they lost to USA in an extra time goal in the final held in Ottawa early Monday (Finnish Time) morning.

Although an early score by Jesse Kiiskinen took lead for Finland at the 8th minute of the game, the match was ended 3-3 draw resulting the extra time play.

The Finns who were leading by 3-1 at 25th minute in the second period, finally had to consume the defeat when Teddy Stiga scored the golden goal at the nineth minute of extra time to ensure gold for USA.

Tuomas Uronen and Emil Pieniniemi also scored one goal each for Finland while James Hagens, Brandon Svoboda and Cole Hutson scored one goal each in the regular time of the final match.
