Sevilla coach Vincenzo Montella contemplated the chance of his side making history when they take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.
The Sanchez Pizjuan will be packed with fans hoping to see Sevilla seal an advantage to take to Munich next Wednesday and the former Milan boss is looking to take the club to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in their history.
"We have already made history in getting this far, but we are not satisfied with that and we are going to do everything we can to get to the final and we will do it with the team and fans both together," said Montella.
Sevilla knocked Manchester United out of the last round of the Champions League and have also reached the final of the King's Cup where they will face FC Barcelona; they also played Barca at the weekend, seeing how 2 goals in the last two minutes stopped then from ending Barca's unbeaten league record this season.
"I am worried about the physical aspect of things. I am not worried about motivation; our heads are better prepared than our legs ... It's obvious that when you go a long way in competitions they sap your physical and mental energy and we paid for that in a few league matches as we are not used to playing every three days," continued the Sevilla boss.
Montella lamented that key midfielder, Ever Banega will miss that game through suspension, but said that "whoever comes into the side will do a good job."
He also implied that Wissam Ben Yedder, who scored the two goals in Manchester to take Sevilla into the last 8, would start on Tuesday.
"What is Ben Yedder's moment? The Champions League," said Montella.
