Finland win silver in Ice Hockey U-18 WC

Finland had to be satisfied with the silver medal as they lost to the United States by 2-4 goals in the final match of International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) under 18 world championship held at Porad in Slovakia on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, it was the third gold for USA in the last four U18 world championships.

Finland's Kristian Vesalainen has been selected as the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament for highest scoring of goals (6) and 13 points while another Finn Miro Heiskanen got the award of the best defenceman in the tournamenmt.

Earlier, Finland beat Russia in Semi-finals by 2-1 and Czech Republic by 6-5 in the quarter-finals and reached to the final of the tournament.

The USA beat Sweden in semi-finals and Switzerland in the quarters-final by 4-3 goals and 4-2 goals respectively to reach the final.

Russia won bronze in the tournament beating Sweden by 3 goals to nil.
