Finland topped in the point table of Group B after crushing Latvia by 8 goals to 1 in Herning late Sunday night in the 2018 World Ice Hockey Championship.
Sebastian Aho had two goals and four assists helped the Lions to make the big score.
The loss took Latvia to fifth place with two points.
The Finns got just the start they needed, scoring the first just 84 seconds into the game. Veli-Matti Savinainen made a nice deke inside the Latvian end and whisked a pass to Sebastian Aho, who drilled a perfect one timer to the open side past an outstretched Kristers Gudlevskis, reported IIHF.
The Lions clearly dominated over the Latvians during the match, resulting in the big victory for the country in the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match, the Lions also beat the Republic of Korea by 8-1 on May 5.
Finland will face neighbouring Norway on Tuesday while Latvia will meet the Republic of Korea on the same day.
