Finland scored third consecutive victory in the Ice Hockey World Cup 2018 beating the neighbouring Norway by seven goals to nil in Denmark late Tuesday night.

Earlier in their previous two matches, the Lions beat Latvia and the Republic of Korea by 8-1 each and scored a total of 23 goals in three games to stay at the top place of Group B and all the 16 teams so far.

Finland started scoring from the very beginning of the match after a fine combination between the top two scorers of the tournament, Sebastian Aho and Veli-Matti Savinainen, took the team to 1-0 lead just at the fourth minute of the game.

Four minutes later the score became double, following a defensive blunder by Norway’s Niklas Roest.

Teuvo Teravainen, Kasperi Kapanen, Markus Nutivaara, captain Mikael Granlund and Saku Maenalanen later scored one goal each to increase the difference and ensure another victory with a big margin for the Finns.

Finland will face the host Denmark on Wednesday while Norway will face Canada on Thursday.
