Paceman Taskin Ahmed bagged three wickets to unsettle the Sri Lanka Cricket President's XI top-order, but a fifty from hosts skipper Dinesh Chandimal has ensured they don't suffer from a big embarrassment in the two-day warm-up match. After the visitors made 391 for 7 on the first day, the hosts had a poor start to the second day as Taskin struck twice in four balls in the day's fourth over.

When Mustafizur Rahman removed Ron Chandraguptha, the Sri Lankan team were 29 for 3. Chandimal and Roshen Silva (38) then made 81 in the fourth wicket to avert further disaster while the former added a further 53 with Rumesh Buddika (32) in the next stand. The hosts now have 169 for 5, trailing the Tigers by 222 runs while Chandimal is not out on 68, thanks to nine fours.
