Sweden's Duplantis wins men's pole vault at European Championships

Sweden's Armand Duplantis secured the gold medal with a world junior record of 6.05 metres in the pole vault final at the European Championships in Berlin Olympic Stadium on Sunday.

Russia's Timur Morgunov leaped to silver with 6.00 metres whereas France's Renaud Lavillenie wrapped up the bronze medal with 5.95 metres.

The European Championships is a new multi-sport event, bringing together the existing European Championships of seven different federations every four years. The on-going event is jointly hosted by Berlin and Glasgow.
