Hofmeister, Mastnak crown in parallel giant slalom at FIS Snowboard WC

Ramona Hofmeister of Germany and Slovenian Tim Mastnak pocketed women's and men's parallel giant slalom golds at 2018/19 FIS snowboard Parallel World Cup at Secret Garden ski resorts here on Saturday.

Hofmeister overcame PyeongChang Olympic champion Ester Ledecka of Czech Republic by 0.40 seconds in big final, while Selina Joerg of Germany won the bronze.

"I am so happy to be back on the podium, and on the top of the podium again, two times in a row. Last week in PyeongChang I made also the first place, it is so amazing. I am thankful to my big and strong team who stands behind me," Hofmeister said.

In men's final, Mastnak edged Russian Andrey Sobolev by 0.56 seconds to claim the victory, the bronze went to German Stefan Baumeister.

China sent 17 snowboarder to join women's and men's parallel giant slalom World Cup, only 20-year-old Gong Naiying made it to the last 16 in women's competition.
