Finavia to increase airport charges from next year

Finavia, the company operates country´s airports decided to increase airport charges for airlines and other airport users starting from the beginning of 2020, said an official press release on Tuesday.

The main reasons for the change are the increased depreciations and capital costs due to investment programme.

Passenger charge will be increased by 6.8% and landing charge by 3%. Security service charge will increase by 2.2%. In total prices will increase by 3.9% in comparison to 2019 level.

If any airport user disagrees with the price hiking, the decision can be referred to the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency for processing in accordance with the Act on the Airport Network and Airport Charges.

With this pricing decision Finavia Oyj informs the airport users about the changes in Finavia’s pricing that apply starting from 1.1.2020. The updated price list will be published on the website of Finavia.

The decision of Finavia regarding charges hike was sent to airport users on August 29.
