A rescue drive will take place at Savonlinna airport on Wednesday, said a press release issued by Finavia, the company that operates the country’s airports.
The purpose of the exercise is to develop cooperation between the authorities and other operators.
The focus will be on first aid measures and rescue operations, and the functionality of the airport’s rescue plan will be tested as well.
During the time of the exercise, emergency vehicular traffic will be lively on the roads to the airport and smoke will be visible at the airport.
The exercise may cause delays in non-professional and training flight operations, but will not affect passenger traffic in any way.
The exercise will be in progress in the early evening, from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
