Further ground service walkouts at Finnish airports were avoided as the parties of the labor dispute accepted a mediation solution on Monday.

The dispute concerned the pay tariffs of the employees of Airpro, a subsidiary of the Finnish state owned airport operator Finnavia.

The national labor conflict mediator Minna Helle has been mediating between the Union of Air Transport employees IAU and the organization of service sector employers PALTA for weeks.

Two four-hour strikes caused major disruption in Finnish airports, particularly the Helsinki-Vantaa airport earlier this month, leading to flight cancellations.

Had agreement not been found on Monday, the union would have arranged more stoppages at peak travel time this week.

Following the negotiation the strikes scheduled to be observed from 2.00 pm to 6.00pm everyday from March 22 to March 24 have been withdrawn.
