Strike of ground crew disrupts flights at Helsinki Airport

A sudden walkout of the ground handling operator Swissport caused rush and delays at Helsinki Airport on Wednesday, said Finavia in a press release.

The strike started at 3:00 pm, which affected all ground handling operations, e.g., baggage handling, widely.

The walkout affects flights operated by Finnair, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, and EasyJet

Due to the cancelled and/or delayed flights, there is congestion in baggage claim area, arrival hall and airline service points.

Passengers are requested to follow the real-time flight data and get more information from their own airlines which are not involved in the walkout, said Finavia.

Finavia apologised for all the inconveniences the strike has caused to the passengers.
