Passenger flow through Finnish airports nosedives in Nov

A total of 170,703 passengers flew through Finnish airports in November, posting a year-on-year fall of 91 per cent, according to the Statistics Finland.
There were 122,426 passengers at Helsinki Airport and 48,277 at other airports in the country. Helsinki Airport accounted for 72 per cent of all passengers at the country’s airports.
In November 2020, the number of passengers at Helsinki Airport decreased by 92 per cent and the combined number of passengers at other Finnish airports went down by 85 per cent year on year.
Of the passengers, 48 per cent came from international flights and 52 per cent from domestic flights.
The share of passengers on international flights was 64 per cent at Helsinki Airport and seven per cent at other airports.
In January to November 2020, the number of passengers flying through Finnish airports totalled 6.3 million, dropping by 74 per cent year on year.
Of the passengers 69 per cent came from international flights and 31 per cent from domestic flights. There were 4.9 million passengers at Helsinki Airport and a total of 1.3 million passengers at other airports. Helsinki Airport accounted for 79 per cent of passengers at the country’s airports.
In January to November 2020, the volume of air freight and mail transport totalled 118,926 tonnes, registering a 43 per cent nosedive over the previous year.
