The Cruise ferry operators Viking Line and Linda Line on Monday suspended the ferry services of the smaller and fasters vessels due to strong wind.
The authorities also said that the services will remain suspended also on Tuesday, ferry operators sources said.
The cruise services of the bigger ships of the operators, however, will continue on the same route.
The FSTR catamaran shuttles operated by Viking Line and six trips of Linda Line were cancelled due to the adverse weather, national broadcaster Yle reported.
The company does not operate its ferries with conditions of wind speeds exceeding 15 metres per second with wave heights over three metres, said the Yle report, adding that the Finnish Meteorological Institute's weather outlook for the Gulf of Finland anticipates wind speeds of up to 19 metres per second with waves measuring up to 2.5 metres.
