Europe's largest budget airline Ryanair on Wednesday announced its expansion in Finland, which sees its return to Helsinki Airport, and a new route from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport, said Finavia in a press release, quoting the airline.
Ryanair announced it will operate 29 departing flights per week from Helsinki Airport, across eight destinations.
New routes from Helsinki Airport are to London, Milan, Riga, Warsaw, Brussels, Kaunas, Paris, and Poznan. From Tampere-Pirkkala Airport, a new route to London has been announced.
Ryanair also adds one new Tampere-Pirkkala route from/to London Stansted operating 2 flights per week.
“We are happy that Ryanair is opening new routes from Helsinki Airport and Tampere-Pirkkala. We are pleased that Ryanair decided to make such a significant decision. It’s great that Finland’s wide range of good flight connections is gradually recovering. This is a signal that we are moving towards better times. Travelling through Finavia’s airports is smooth and safe,” said Finavia’s Senior Vice President, Sales and Route Development, Petri Vuori.
“We are delighted to expand our operations in Finland and return to Helsinki Airport with 29 departing flights per week across eight routes along with the addition of London Stansted to our Tampere-Pirkkala schedule, with 2 flights per week,” said CEO of Ryanair, Eddie Wilson.
